Lush : Dragon’s Egg Bath Bomb [ REVIEW ]

One of my *unofficial* goals for 2015 is to relax more. As the great Leonardo da Vinci once said, ‘Every now and then go away and have a little relaxation. To remain constantly at work will diminish your judgement.” What is more relaxing close to home than a luxurious bath?  This year I will review products from my fav shop that makes fresh and handmade beauty goods, Lush! So draw up a bath, get a good book and a glass of wine, and let’s relax!

The Dragon’s Egg Bath Bomb from Lush is overall pretty good! It smells great- like sherbet with the scents of lemon and bergamont. After placing it in the bath it is supposed to ‘fizzle, crackle, curl, and end with a glitter explosion.’ While it does fizzle and curl, I didn’t witness any ‘crackling’ but more importantly there was no glitter explosion! It is possible my bath bomb skipped the glitter process, but it was a disappointment as I love Lush’s non plastic glitter. It always adds such a nice shimmer to the skin. The floating circles of rice paper were nice, but what would be even cooler is a plastic dinosaur that pops out with the glitter explosion, yes? Just me?

The bath water turns a pleasant yellow color, and the scent lingers. This is a fun one to watch dissolve as well. I would get this bath bomb again, if just to see if another one gives me a glitter explosion!

Lush : Titsy Totsy Bath Bomb [ REVIEW ]

1

One of my *unofficial* goals for 2015 is to relax more. As the great Leonardo da Vinci once said, ‘Every now and then go away and have a little relaxation. The Titsy Totsy Bath Bomb from Lush is pretty forgetful for me. Before it goes in the bath it smells fabulous, the scents of rose and orris root combining to to create an intoxicating combination. The problems start when the bath bomb starts to dissolve  in the bath. It disappears completely leaving no change of color and the scent fades as well.

This bath bomb has real rose buds that float in the (clear, normal smelling) bath water which are easy to clean up. I would not purchase this bath bomb again, however it might be improved by adding a scented and colored bubble bar.

Lush : Sex Bomb Bath Bomb [ REVIEW ]

One of my *unofficial* goals for 2015 is to relax more. As the great Leonardo da Vinci once said, ‘Every now and then go away and have a little relaxation. The Sex Bomb Bath Bomb from Lush is one of their best selling, and no wonder- it smells gorgeous with the jasmine, clary sage and ylang ylang. This bath bomb leaves your skin feeling soothed and so soft because of the soya milk, and your brain ready for bedtime. The water turns a gorgeous deep pink, and the little rice paper flower floats around the tub as you relax.

It was a nice bath bomb, and worth the purchase but I wouldn’t list it among my favorites. Still, give it a try!

The Ickle Baby Bot Bath Bomb from Lush is a cute little blue robot intended for kids and adults alike. It smells gorgeous, like lavender, chamomile and sandalwood. This bath bomb leaves your skin feeling soothed and so soft, and your brain ready for bedtime. The water turns a gorgeous blue, like floating in a blue lagoon. This bath bomb is small and fizzes quickly, but it still fills an entire bath! I would recommend this one for kids to make bath time extra fun!

Lush : Rose Queen Bath Bomb [ REVIEW ]

One of my *unofficial* goals for 2015 is to relax more. As the great Leonardo da Vinci once said, ‘Every now and then go away and have a little relaxation. The Rose Queen Bath Bomb from Lush is pretty great. This bath bomb leaves your skin feeling soothed and so soft. The water turns a gorgeous pink, and the rose fragrance is incredible. This bath bomb fizzes quickly, although it is small it packs a punch, with tons of blossoms, petals and other cut bits of nature. So many in fact that the clean up is a bit of a chore. This would be a good one to wrap, or perhaps to just let drain and pick them up all together. Sadly this is one of the bath bombs on the chopping block, so pick one up before they are gone!

Lush : Granny Takes A Dip Bath Bomb [ REVIEW ]

Granny Takes A Dip

One of my *unofficial* goals for 2015 is to relax more. As the great Leonardo da Vinci once said, ‘Every now and then go away and have a little relaxation. To remain constantly at work will diminish your judgement.” What is more relaxing close to home than a luxurious bath?  This year I will review products from my fav shop that makes fresh and handmade beauty goods, Lush! So draw up a bath, get a good book and a glass of wine, and let’s relax!

The Granny Takes A Dip bath bomb from Lush is so incredible. It leaves your skin feeling soft and lightly perfumed. The smell is fantastic- lemon oil, spicy black pepper and fresh ginger oil get your mind going! Once you place it in the bath it spins and scoots around,  shooting out what looks like frothy psychedelic multicolored sherbet. It doesn’t leave a ring around the tub either.

4

When it’s done spinning the bath water is left a deep pinky purple.  It takes awhile to fizz completely, but it’s worth the wait. Sadly this bath bomb is one of the ones in line to be discontinued, so get it quickly! Apparently it will be reformulated to become a bubble bar, which I will try as soon as I can!

Lush : Big Blue Bath Bomb [ REVIEW ]

One of my *unofficial* goals for 2015 is to relax more. As the great Leonardo da Vinci once said, ‘Every now and then go away and have a little relaxation. To remain constantly at work will diminish your judgement.” What is more relaxing close to home than a luxurious bath?  This year I will review products from my fav shop that makes fresh and handmade beauty goods, Lush! So draw up a bath, get a good book and a glass of wine, and let’s relax!

The Big Blue Bath Bomb from Lush is incredible. This bath bomb leaves your skin feeling soothed and soft because of the real seaweed, and the addition of sea salt helps rid your body of toxins. The water turns a bright blue so it is easy to imagine yourself lounging on a warm Caribbean beach- (if only). Lavender and lemon oil help relax and energize- not to mention it smells fantastic.

This bath bomb fizzes quickly, releasing the Arame seaweed (Eisenia arborea) which is a type of kelp. Fun fact- this kelp is harvested in Japan, Peru and the North Pacific Coast and their mineral content can include calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, potassium and zinc. They are also rich in vitamins. Once the seaweed is released in the water, the seaweed softens and releases its nutrients. Love this bath bomb, I will be purchasing it again!

Lush : Space Girl Bath Bomb [ REVIEW ]

One of my *unofficial* goals for 2015 is to relax more. As the great Leonardo da Vinci once said, ‘Every now and then go away and have a little relaxation. To remain constantly at work will diminish your judgement.” What is more relaxing close to home than a luxurious bath?  This year I will review products from my fav shop that makes fresh and handmade beauty goods, Lush! So draw up a bath, get a good book and a glass of wine, and let’s relax!

The Space Girl bath bomb is pretty dreamy. Sadly it is one of Lush’s products that is on the chopping block to make room for new products, so if you want one get it quickly! Immediately after hitting the water it starts fizzing like mad and turns the bath water gorgeous shades or magenta and red until it all comes together as a beautiful glittery purple. The smell of grapefruit oil is yummy, and the shimmer ‘stardust’ in the bath bomb is very discreet. This bomb also is supposed to have popping blackcurrant candies – but mine must have been a dud. However, the other properties more than made up for the lack of them!

This bath bomb, shaped like Saturn is really out of this world. 😉

Lush : Honey Bee Bath Bomb [ REVIEW ]

The Honey Bee Bath Bomb from Lush was pretty great. It’s one of their best sellers, and I can see why. The scent is of honey and toffee – while it dissipated quickly – was heavenly while it lasted. Even better was the Moroccan Rhassoul mud to gently cleanse and soften your skin and the calming aloe vera that makes the bath water silky soft. These bath bombs are packed with skin soothing honey keep your skin moisturized. The feeling on your skin after the bath is better than the bath itself!

Although the water turns a dehydrated pee yellow (ehh) and the scent didn’t last very long for me, I will be purchasing this bath bomb again! No other Lush bath bomb has made my skin quite that soft after.

Lush : Phoenix Rising Bath Bomb [ REVIEW ]

One of my *unofficial* goals for 2015 is to relax more. As the great Leonardo da Vinci once said, ‘Every now and then go away and have a little relaxation. The Phoenix Rising Bath Bomb is a tribute to Lush’s belief that “great things can rise out of the ashes, just like the mythical Phoenix”. After you toss it in the tub the bomb sinks to the bottom, bubbling and fizzing and then it slowly rises, letting off a gorgeous scent of cinnamon and spicy apple. The water was soft, and the purple and gold dusted bomb turned it a lovely pink hue.

What is left of the bomb rises to the top and is sooo soft. The smell is intended for the fall (which is when I purchased the bath bomb) but I can attest it is still wonderful even in the summer! I will be purchasing this bath bomb again!
