Day 6 of our Epic ‘chummy’ trip to the Pacific Northwest was spent exploring Portland, Oregon! We rolled into town at lunch time to grab a bite to eat from a food truck and to meet up with an old friend and neighbor, Allison! The food carts were a trip, and catching up with Allison was awesome! She took us to the Saturday Market where we explored the shops and hung out. It was great fun! After we left downtown we went to the Japanese Garden and the International Rose Test Garden- both very awesome. Dinner was at a local pizza joint where we watched the Portland Timbers fans cheer on their team. It was a fantastic day- too bad we didn’t schedule another day to explore Portland!
Food truck time, and catching up with my old friend Allison!!
The Japanese Garden was so beautiful and peaceful (when the screaming children weren’t near us) and it was a pretty day to walk in the neat gardens, soaking in the nature. It just would have been even nicer with no one else there!
We walked over to the International Rose Test Garden, where it is simply gorgeous!! I’ve been to the famous rose garden in Vienna, Austria (see that post here) and this garden rivals it.
Parking for dinner with the Portland Timbers fans at a local pizza place, I parallel parked for the first time!!
The only way to end the evening- back on our beach with the Haystack Rock and ‘Sailor Steve’ in Cannon Beach, OR.
